Membership never affects order. Every listed business has the same membership, and no business can pay to appear higher.

What decides the order
Every search starts from the same rules. They use only location, verified credentials and published customer reviews.
Step 1: Serves your location
With a ZIP code, businesses whose own service area covers your ZIP come first.Step 2: Nearer to your ZIP
Then nearer businesses, grouped in 10-mile steps so a few hundred yards don’t outweigh everything else.Step 3: More verified credentials
Within the same distance step, businesses with more staff-approved credentials (veteran ownership, license, insurance) come first.Step 4: Stronger review score
Then the review score — the average star rating, weighted toward a neutral 4.0 until a business has several reviews.Step 5: Name
Anything still tied is listed alphabetically.
Without a ZIP code
Distance can’t be measured, so results are ordered by verified credentials, then review score, then name.
What is never an input
Membership, how long a business has been a member, and anything a business pays. Sleeves Up staff don’t hand-pick positions either.

Choosing a different order
Best match
The default. Businesses whose service area covers your ZIP come first, then nearer businesses (grouped in 10-mile steps), then those with more verified credentials, then the stronger review score. Ties are listed by name.
Nearest first
Only offered when you enter a ZIP code. Results are ordered by straight-line distance from the centre of that ZIP to the business's base.
Highest rated
Ordered by review score: the average star rating, weighted toward a neutral 4.0 until a business has several reviews, so one or two reviews can't jump a listing to the top. Businesses with no reviews yet sit at that neutral score — they are never hidden.

Distance
Shows businesses within the distance you choose of your ZIP, plus businesses whose own service area reaches your ZIP.
Verified credentials
Shows only businesses with every credential you select, as approved by staff and not expired. We don’t run background checks. What we verify
Minimum rating
Shows businesses whose average rating meets the minimum. Businesses with no reviews yet are hidden only while a minimum is set.
Reviews can only be left by homeowners for a project arranged through the platform with that business, and members cannot remove reviews from their own listings. If something in the results looks wrong, tell us.
